House Fire Callout
On Wednesday Dec. 29th at approximately 6:45 pm the SGLVFD were called out to a structure fire at 4110 North Bonaparte Road .
Upon arrival 2 occupants were out of the house . The house was fully engulfed , we provided exposure protection and monitored the Fire Scene until it posed no further threat .
The occupants were assessed by BCAS and released .
We worked through some challenging conditions due to the adverse weather conditions.
I would like to thank those who attended , you did an outstanding job .

Newest Addition to the Fleet
Thanks to a lot of hard work from our volunteers, we got the snow plow in-service by Dec 21. This will allow us to react quickly if we get a big snowfall, clearing the lot. In the past we have relied on volunteers with small machines or occasionally Interior Roads would plow the lot for us.
With Dry Hydrants in our future at access 5 and 10, we will also be able to keep them plowed in the event we need water.
I would personally like to thank the executive for thinking of the future and all our dedicated volunteers for making us ready for whatever winter brings us before the Christmas Holidays.
With this level of commitment by all our volunteers, as our mission statement states, ‘We are ensuring a Safe Community”
