Bob and Roger showing off our latest acquisition!More than a dozen rural fire departments in the TNRD are better equipped to respond to wildfires, thanks to a generous donation of firefighting skid units by GlobalMedic. Each fire skid contains a 1,000-litre holding tank, a pressurized pump, and a forestry fire hose. These fire skids are able to be mounted onto pickup trucks, allowing firefighters to access areas that may be inaccessible for larger firetrucks. These fire skids have been donated to all TNRD operated fire departments and other rural fire departments and fire brigades within the Thompson-Nicola region. The TNRD has facilitated the delivery of these fire skids, and we are grateful to GlobalMedic for supplying these fire skids to help protect our communities.Read more in today’s News Release: www.tnrd.ca/generous-equipment-donation-by-globalmedic-supports-local-response-to-wildfires/ GlobalFire

Wood Piles

Just a update on the grinding of the wood piles. Arrow Transport Systems will be moving equipment in this weekend (Feb 20-21) and are going to be grinding the debris piles and hauling them for utilization.

They are estimating (weather and conditions allowing ) it will take about a week to grind  and hauling will take place up until road bans are put on. So hopefully everything will be moved before that if not they will finish the hauling once bans are lifted.
